Belva Eleanor Giddens, 88, of Clermont, Georgia, formerly of Inverness, FL, went to be with her Lord on June 28, 2025, in Gainesville, GA at the Ashton Senior Living Center. Belva was born on October 5, 1936, in Istachatta, FL to the late Travis and Essie (Hawkins) Peters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald, in June 2015 and her sister, Arlene White, June 2020. Belva and Donald moved from Inverness to Georgia in 2011 to be closer to the family. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Inverness and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Murrayville, GA.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Dwight Giddens (Tiffany) and Rhonda Surface (Dewey) both of Clermont, GA; 2 sisters: Neva Dupree (Ronnie) of Lake Wales, FL; Doretha Strickland of Bushnell, FL; Sister-In-Law Earlene Crews of Kingsland, GA; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Giddens (Sarah), Allison Fullerton (Ryan), Heather Giddens, Melinda Harrington (Josh), Lauren Sturgis (Jordan), and Dakota Briscoe; 11 great grandchildren: Lane, Lilly, Crosby, Grant, Aedan, Miles, Grayson, Clayton, Carlin, Emmie, and Turner; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 1:00PM, from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL. with The Rev. Steve Baker, pastor of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church officiating. There will be a private burial at a later date in Florida National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Donations be made to First Baptist Church of Inverness or Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 5233 Will Wheeler Road, Murrayville, GA 30564.
