James A. Buck, 71, of Inverness, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. James was born in and grew up in St. Petersburg, FL. He began working as a teenager, and went on to be a heavy equipment operator, working in construction. When he was much younger, James thoroughly enjoyed fishing by casting his net along the coastal waters of St. Pete. He loved good eating and drinking, especially seafood. James also enjoyed gardening, and he absolutely relished in taking good care of his plants and flowers. He also loved the beach, and he especially loved his family. James was preceded in death by his son Richard and his four brothers Johnny, Ben, Joe, and Ron. Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted and loving wife of 23 years Donna Athey Buck; his daughters Tammy Hotchkiss, Angela Hammel, and Tanya Napier (Josh); his bonus daughters and son Angel Rollison, Bonnie Giles, and L.J. Giles; his grandchildren William Roberson, Savannah Palmer-Dyals, Suezanna McDaniel, Shyeanna McDaniel, Winton Napier, Nolan Napier, Evie Napier, Chandler Napier, and several bonus grandchildren; his great granddaughter Wrenley Grace Dyals; his special nephew John Buck (Lisa) and niece Tammy Rhoden (David); and several other nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
