James O’Sullivan, of Floral City, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was 56 years young. James was born in Bethpage, NY to Lawrence J. and Grace Logan O’Sullivan and he was a proud Irishman through and through. He was a Navy Veteran of the Gulf War, and he was a supervisor in construction. James was a proud member of Sober Bikers, and enjoyed riding his purple Harley Davidson, and he also enjoyed fishing, the Lightning Hockey League and 1980’s heavy metal music, and this man sure could sport a Mullet in his day! He met people in the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard and On Top of the World Veterans Club, and discovered what an honor it is for veterans to serve other veterans. The Veterans Club even handcrafts wood urns beautifully designed as the tomb of the unknown soldier, and gives them to veterans in need.
James is survived by his wife Wendy, daughter Andrea Massaro, son Tyler Baldwin, son Nathan Baldwin, his two sisters Sharon and Maureen, and his sister-in law Debbie, seven grandchildren and extended family: son-in-law and daughters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of James’ life held on Friday, June 6th beginning at the Davis Funeral Home chapel at 11:00AM, with it concluding at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:00 PM, where full military honors will be rendered. The procession will leave promptly at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations please be made in James’ memory to the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard online at www.memorialhonorguard.com or mail to 2306 SW 20th CT, Ocala, FL 34471. Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
