Margaret J. McDonald

Margaret J. McDonald, age 91, Inverness, FL passed away September 27, 2026. Margaret was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 12, 1935 to the late John O. Silva and Agnes MacPhee Silva and came to this area in 1998 from Palm Harbor, FL. She was a homemaker and served our country in the United States Marine Corps, having been discharged in 1954. Margaret attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church

Left to cherish her memory are two children: Michael McDonald of Inverness and Laura Lander of Floral City; 1 sister, Faith Kingdon of Inverness; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many extended family members. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie E. McDonald on January 27, 1999 and her son, Bob McDonald. 

Margaret was a proud supporter of her local VFW and American Legion, where she enjoyed spending time with others. She loved karaoke, good friends, and, most of all, her family.

Margaret was always actively involved and supportive in her children’s lives, whether volunteering at their schools, being a cheer mom or team mom for the many sports they participated in. She carried that same love and support into the lives of her grandchildren, proudly cheering from the stands or simply being there as a calming presence when they needed her. She was always there with a smile, a warm hug, and encouraging words, making sure her family knew they were loved and supported.

In keeping with her loving spirit, please forgo black and wear your favorite bright or cheerful colors as we celebrate her life, her memories, and the joy she brought to those around her.

A Catholic Prayer Service is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Fr. James Ruhlin officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery under the direction of the All Citrus Honor Guard Team. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the Citrus County Animal Services, 4030 South Airport Road, Inverness, FL 34450
