John Joseph Lee, Jr., age 77, of Floral City, died at HCA Largo Hospital on September 23, 2026. Born in Barnesville, GA, he was the son of the late John J. and Dorothy (Ross) Lee.
Johnny lived in Citrus County for most of his life, arriving here from Georgia at just six years of age. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he built a career as a welder and was known as a superior metal fabricator. A true outdoorsman, Johnny loved hunting, fishing, and boating. He was also known for having an opinion about just about everything and never being afraid to share it—a personality trait that those who knew and loved him will certainly remember.
Johnny enjoyed spending time working on race cars with his cousin, Victor, and sharing good times with his friend, Dwayne. Although Johnny never had children of his own, he had a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, and the many “extra kids” who became like family to him. He enjoyed taking them camping, spending time outdoors, and making memories together. Some of those memories were made around a campfire, with Johnny making his famous sausage and biscuits for breakfast. He may not have been a father by title, but he was a father figure, uncle, and friend to many, and his love was shown through the time he spent with the people he cared about.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his four brothers, Frankie Lee, Jimmy Lee, Richard Lee, and Emory Walton. Left to cherish his memory are his nephews and nieces, Terry (Diana) Lee, Joey (Kim) Lee, Richard D. Lee, Jr., Justin O. Lee, Melissa M. Lyons, Rita Walton, and Melody Walton, along with a plethora of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Private arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.

Johnny was a long time friend of my family and I. We have had many good times together. Even though it’s sad that he is gone, I know he is up in heaven with my mom and many other friends that loved him as well.
Till we can laugh again my friend,
Pattie ~
