Mary R. Merrick, age 94, of Inverness died on September 16, 2026 at Citrus Health and Rehab under the care of Vitas Hospice. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Condeloro and Mary Grace (Ravida) Rao.
Mary arrived in the Inverness area from Miami. She was Catholic by faith. Mary had a couple of successful careers as a registered nurse and then as a cook. She was also a lover of nature and a Master Gardener. She traveled extensively and enjoyed adventure.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lorri Kehl of Chicago, IL and Chrisine Graziano of Utica, NY; 3 grandchildren, Leonard Joseph, Krystal Poczatek, and Christopher Kirkland, and 2 great grandchildren, Kole Poczatek and Chase Poczatek.
Visitation will be held at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Monday, September 21st, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A Catholic Prayer Service will be offered at 3:00 PM; Father James Ruhlin, officiant. Cremation arrangements will follow.
In lieu of flowers, Mary’s family requests donations in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. (www.stjude.org)
