In Loving Memory of Ralph Thornton
Ralph passed away on September 9, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will miss him deeply.
After serving in the military, Ralph returned home and made his family his greatest priority. He believed in being there—not just in the big moments, but in all the little ones that become the memories we treasure most.
He proudly watched and supported his son through Boy Scouts, soccer, high school, college football and many adventures. Some of his most special memories came during the 10 years he spent on the soccer sidelines coaching alongside his adult son. Those years were about much more than soccer; they were about spending time together, sharing experiences, and strengthening a father-son bond that will never be forgotten.
Ralph’s love reached far beyond his immediate family. He made an impact on his extended family as well, always valuing family, togetherness, and the time they had with one another.
Ralph and his wife spent years traveling around the country before eventually choosing Florida as their permanent home. For more than 10 years, Inverness was where they built a new chapter of their lives and created many more memories.
Ralph’s greatest legacy isn’t something that can be measured. It is found in the people he loved, the time he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories he left behind.
Dad, we will miss having you beside us, but we will carry you with us in everything we do. Every soccer field, football game, family gathering, and road traveled will hold a memory of you. Thank you for always being there, for believing in us, and for showing us what it means to love your family. We are grateful for every moment we had with you. We love you, Dad, and we will miss you more than words can say. Until we meet again.
The family is being served by the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. There are no services scheduled.

Uncle Ralph always had something unique to say, for example the first thing I remember him saying to me was “What’s your story?” For some reason he always stumped me with that question. Then I remember his dancing tattoo, yet he was not in the shape required for it to dance as it once did I imagine! Uncle Ralph you will be missed, for no one else could light up the day with a laugh like yours. I find myself feeling like I didn’t hear anywhere near enough of your stories, so here’s to our telling each other all about our stories in paradise buddy, I love you.
Your Nephew,
Steven
