Norma Jean Stern, age 93, died on August 22, 2026. She was born November 10, 1932 in Rosemont, West Virginia, and was the daughter of Roy and Marie Simon. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, daughter Deborah Ann Hanson, brothers: Roy Jr., William, and sister Kathleen. She was the last surviving member of the immediate family.
Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years, William K. Stern, who was her loving caregiver for many years; her nieces: Michelle (Timothy) Kearney in Epping, New Hampshire; Carissa Baker in Terra Vista; Candace (Barry) Barnhart in Ocala, FL; nephew Christopher (Carrie) Simon in Floral City, FL, and several great nephews and nieces.
She was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, FL and a 60 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Federal Chapter No. 38 in Washington, D.C.
Norma will be remembered for her generous spirit and loving loyalty to family and friends. She and the family have been very appreciative of the excellent and loving care she received from the staff and management of The Summit of Citrus Hills assisted living facility, and the caregivers of VITAS Hospice.
There will be no visitation hours or service per her request. Her urn will be interred privately at Florida National Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory is in charge of private cremation
