In Loving Memory of Mary Lillian Kinsey
Mary Lillian Kinsey, lovingly known as “Gigi” by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on November 4, 1946, in Patchogue, New York, and throughout her life, she created a legacy of love, laughter, family, and memories that will continue for generations to come.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, David Ray Kinsey, for 43 wonderful years. Their love and devotion to one another were a beautiful testament to the life they built together.
Mary was the kind of woman who could make you laugh, tell you exactly what she thought, and love you fiercely all at the same time. She was funny, loving, strong-willed, and very feisty. But beneath that feisty spirit was a heart that was completely devoted to the people she loved.
Family was Mary’s greatest joy. She loved nothing more than bringing everyone together. She took great pride in planning monthly family dinners and birthday dinners, creating opportunities for everyone to gather around the table, share stories, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. Those dinners were more than meals—they were memories, and Mary made sure her family always had a reason to come home.
She loved her family more than anything in this world. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and happiness in her life. To her grandchildren, she wasn’t simply Grandma—she was Gigi, a name that will forever carry the warmth, laughter, and love they shared with her.
Mary was also a hardworking woman who took great pride in her work. One of her favorite jobs was working for Venero & Sons, an appliance store where she spent many years. Her work was another reflection of the person she was: dependable, hardworking, and devoted.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, David Ray Kinsey; her daughter, Phyllis Pittman Hagen, age 60; her stepdaughter, Dava Mays; her stepson, Edward Kinsey; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, along with countless family members and friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her son, David DeMilt, who passed away at the age of 40; and her brother, Harold Poole.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, Mary’s love will never leave us. It lives on in every family dinner, every birthday celebration, every story told with laughter, and in the generations of children and grandchildren who carry a piece of her with them.
She was the heart of her family, the keeper of traditions, the planner of gatherings, the voice that could make you laugh, and the woman who loved her family with everything she had.
Her chair may now be empty, but her place in our hearts never will be.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 2:00P.M., at Floral City Methodist Church, with a visitation starting at 1:00P.M. until the hour of service. Rev. Cindy Long will be officiating. There will be a reception following the service in Hilton Hall. Mary’s urn will be interred at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City at a later date. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, FL, is assisting the family.
