Arthur M. Herman, 86, of Inverness, passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Sara (Cohen) Herman.
Arthur was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He loved traveling to discover new places, cultures, and cuisines around the world He enjoyed playing tennis and watching tournaments on television. Most of all, he cherished spending time with family and friends. In recent years, Arthur was a devoted caregiver for his wife.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Cecilia S. Herman of Inverness; son, Enrique Mortel of Murphy, TX; brother, Gilbert Herman of Stamford, CT; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 11:00 AM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Dendy officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. For those who cannot attend the service in person, the family is providing a live stream on YouTube. Condolences to all the Herman family members on Arts’ passing. Art was the kindest and wisest person that I knew and I always enjoyed getting his take on any situation or occurrence that had happened. I will miss his sly humor and him always. Best wishes to all his family members always!
