Alan Burcaw

Alan Burcaw, age 74 of Homosassa, Florida passed away on August 6, 2026 at home. He was born April 25, 1952 son of Richard and Maybelle (Huston) Burcaw in Salem, Ohio. Alan earned a degree from Duke University, majoring in Visual Arts and Psychology and earned a Master’s of Architecture degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. In 1984, he became a Florida registered architect and went on to practice architecture until he joined the Citrus County School Board in 1994 as Facilities and Construction Director until retiring in December 2017.  He married the love of his life, Loretta, in 1990.  

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Loretta; daughter and son-in-law Alyson and Grayson Steele of Weatherford, Texas; step-son and daughter-in-law Charles and Elizabeth Dublin of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Rebecca and Dennis Emily of Westminster, Colorado; step-grandchildren Patrick, Natalie and Viviane.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness.
