Stanley Walter Pingot, age 77, of Inverness, died suddenly on July 31st, 2026. Born in Standish, Michigan, he was the son of the late Felix and Amelia (Stinger) Pingot. He served in the U.S. Army proudly.
Stan married his loving wife, Janet Moore on July 31st, 1971, while he was still active duty. As soon as he was honorably discharged from the military, he applied for a job as an operator for the water treatment plant for the City of Pinconning and worked many years in that field. He even worked for Lockheed Martin when they relocated from Michigan to Citrus County 38 years ago.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Stan found his greatest joy in hunting and fishing. He was an avid gun collector and a passionate deer hunter who treasured time in the woods. He loved fishing of every kind — from casting for bass and trout to the family salmon runs off riverbanks, and saltwater outings when the opportunity arose. Camping trips with his girls, hauling in loads of salmon and teaching them how to fish, are memories his family will always cherish. Stan lived by a simple creed: “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” His love of the outdoors was matched only by his devotion to family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; daughters Tracy Pingot of Inverness and Jenniffer Rogers of Homosassa; brother Phil Pingot of Davison, Michigan; and grandchildren Autumn, Gage, and Wyatt.
Stan’s family will celebrate his life at a later time. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family.

Stan was my grandfather in law, to put it best. This man lit up a room when you walked in, and always made sure everybody was alright before himself, His stories about the Army were always awesome to hear about. He’s going to be missed dearly.
