Margaret “Peg” A. Neighbarger, of Hernando, passed away peacefully under Vitas Hospice care in Lecanto after an extended illness on Friday, July 31, 2026. She was Seventy-seven years of age.
Peg was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Charles “Curley” and Betty Mae (King) Tilley. She met her future husband Randy Neighbarger when she was 16, and they married when she was 19. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed every minute of it. Peg was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and she loved her Ohio State Buckeyes football team! She enjoyed the fall immensely, and you could always find her in her Buckeyes fan garb.
Peg was a member of the Women of the Moose, and she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and for the people she loved. She loved to paint ceramics and putting jig saw puzzles together…anything crafty. Peg was a dynamite Bingo player who also loved playing the lottery. She also spent the majority of her time at home loving on her fur baby “Kasey.”
Peg and Randy made Florida their winter home in 2009, and within a few years, decided to make Florida their fulltime residence.
Peg was preceded in death not only by her parents, but also her sister Paula Brown. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years Randy Neighbarger of Hernando; her devoted daughters Tina Wirth and Kristi Kittell, both of Citrus Springs, FL and Vicki Teague of Wapakoneta, OH; her brother Rusty Tilley of Columbus, OH; her sisters Mary latourette of Fayeteville, NC and Michelle Tilley of Albany, OH; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.

We have known Peggy & Randy for only around 5 years, since we became neighbors. They are the best you could ask for… always kind and helpful. It has been heartbreaking to see Peggy struggle with illness for so long. However, she always had a sweet smile for everyone, regardless of how she was feeling. Randy’s devotion to Peg has been nothing short of beautiful & moving. The love they shared was obvious. Our hearts go out to Randy & their family. When you feel great love, you feel great loss. Peg and Randy have become like family since we met. I always enjoyed a friendly rivalry with Peg cheering for Ohio State and me cheering for Michigan – go Blue…but for Peg I’ll say OH.. 57 years of marriage – wow! You both are an inspiration to us and we only hope to have the long and love filled marriage you’ve had. Peg always had a smile for me, even when she wasn’t feeling the best. I love how her Bingo bag sat in the chair waiting for her to return to her favorite past time. Randy and the girls were there for her and provided love and excellent care until the end. Rest easy Peg – you deserve it! And we’ll try our best to keep an eye on that guy and little dog who will be missing you greatly!
