Jeffrey William Munday, age 62, of Hernando, FL, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2026. Jeff was born on April 18, 1963, in Tarrytown, NY, moved to Inverness in 1978 and Citrus County became his lifelong home until the time of his passing.

Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Citrus High School, where he excelled in sports. He was a successful pitcher on the varsity baseball team and was the quarterback of the Hurricane football team. Jeff dedicated 4 years to the United States Air Force before joining the Citrus County Sheriff’s Department, where he served with distinction for nearly 30 years. He retired in 2016 as a respected Lieutenant known for his loyalty, leadership and humble service. Jeff was often described as “the calm in the chaos,” a testament to the unwavering commitment he brought to the job he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents William (Bill) and Catherine (Kay) Munday of Inverness and sisters Joan Munday and Susan Mansfield of New York.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 25years, Tamara (Tammy) Munday, Hernando; son Travis Titus (Ayla) of Inverness; daughter Ceciley Miller (Shawn) Inverness; son Joshua Titus (Ashleigh) of Inverness and grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Oakley Mae, Keagen, Cole, Clay, Canaan and Ryett; sisters Cheryl Rounds of Bethel, CT and Pat Munday (Rudy) of Jacksonville Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews; Lifetime Best Friend Carlton Green and many other loving family members and friends.

Jeff was smart, strong and steady. Private yet perceptive, practical yet deeply protective, of those he loved. He was a storyteller whose tales were always worth the wait. Jeff will be remembered for the love he had for the Florida Gators, NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins. Jeff’s life was filled with love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on Saturday, February 28th at 5:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and share their memories, stories, and love.
