Harry James “Jim” Pfister

Harry James “Jim” Pfister, age 91, Hernando, FL passed away January 24, 2026 at Arbor Trail Rehab Center.  Jim was born in Highland Park, MI on April 29, 1934 to the late Harry A. Pfister and Lillian Atkinson Pfister, and came to this area 4 years ago from St. Petersburg, FL where he retired from General Telephone (GTE) as an engineer and in sales management with 34 years of service.  He also served our country in the United States Coast Guard.  His membership affiliations included 54 years in Rotary International, 18 years in the St. Petersburg Police Dept. Road Patrol, and 80 years at Allendale United Methodist Church.  He co-founded over 50 years ago the BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) organization.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Winifred (Alman) Pfister; 2 children: Wade Pfister and Lorena Walton (Christopher) all of Hernando, FL; 1 brother and sister: Lt. Col. John J. Pfister (Tina) of Plano, TX and Jani Bedell of Monticello, FL; 4 grandchildren: Larissa, Lynette, Chay, and Craig. 1 great grandson: Alex.

A military graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17th at 11:30 AM at the Florida National Cemetery.  VFW Post 4337 will render honors.
