Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On
Dean Felix Greger

Dean Felix Greger

Dean Felix Greger, of Inverness, passed away peacefully under Hospice care at his home on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was 90 years of age. Dean was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Herbert and Gustl (Gruner) Greger. Dean met and later married his first wife Patricia in 1961, to whom he was happily married for 56 years until her passing in 2017. They lived in Damascus, MD for many years, and while living there he was elected commander of Flotilla 79 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He and Pat moved from Damascus to Bellair, FL (in the Clearwater area) more than 30 years ago. They loved traveling abroad (as long as the people in those places spoke English!), and they loved boating all throughout the Intracoastal Waterway.

While living in Bellair, Dean was captain of the volunteer fire department, and was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. He and Pat moved up to Inverness over 20 years ago from Bellair. They made many friends through their boating activities, and one couple in particular they were very close to: Doug and Leonia Seabury. Once Pat passed and then Doug passed, Dean and Leonia grew closer as friends, and eventually became companions, and they married in November of 2024. He was a Christian.

Dean was not only preceded in death by Pat, but also by his two sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his dear wife Leonia; his daughter Dawn Allen of Pennsylvania; his step-son Robert Hedlumb; his grandchildren Lindsay Collison, Patrick Allen and Lisa Kidwell; and his great grandchildren Kylie Kirby, Cayden Collison, Camryn and Carson Allen, and Brianna and Erin Kidwell. Arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
