Nadine Humphries

Nadine Humphries

Nadine Humphries, age 87, of Inverness, FL, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025 at Diamond Ridge Health & Rehab Center. Nadine was born in Gainesville, GA to the late Malcolm and Willie Ree (Pruitt) Adams.

Nadine attended Gainesville High School in 1956 and married the love of her life, Bobby Humphries, in 1955. Together, they spent the next 20 years building a life of dedication and service through the United States Navy. As a proud and committed military wife, Nadine embraced every adventure that came with Navy life. She traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and more than 20 countries; living in four of them. She had a bold spirit and an even bigger bucket list. She spent the next part of her life checking off everything from flying in a hot air balloon, to ziplining in the Smoky Mountains, to walking along the bottom of the Sea of Cortez. Nadine never shied away from a challenge; she met life with courage, curiosity, and joy.

In the 1980s, when her grandchildren were born, Bobby and Nadine moved from Tampa to Citrus County to be closer to family. Nadine devoted her retirement to helping raise her grandchildren, Logan and Jordan. She gave them unforgettable experiences and countless adventures in the family motorhome. She was lovingly known as “Honeygram” a name she carried proudly into the next generation. Her two great-granddaughters, Madison and Melanie, were the light of her life and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Nadine was a devoted member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness. She served faithfully in many roles like helping with Wednesday night suppers, serving on various committees, and participating in numerous mission trips both locally and abroad. She lived her faith through action and was always eager to share God’s love with those near and far.

Throughout her life, Nadine pursued a diverse career, working in real estate, at Equifax Credit Reporting Agency, and with Estée Lauder, where she was the first far east representative for the brand. Among all her professional experiences, her fondest memories came from her time as a nanny to twins. Nadine loved deeply, served generously, and her family-centered heart shined through everything she did.

Nadine is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bobby R. Humphries; her daughter, Danita (Shannon) Heathcock of Inverness; and her grandson, Jordan (Sara) Harbison of Savannah, GA.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard and Craig Humphries; her sisters, Wynelle Weaver and Joann Jones and her grandson, Logan Harbison.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 9:30 AM, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Reneau officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29th from 4:00–6:00 PM, at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home
