Cheryl Ann Peruche

Cheryl Ann Peruche, of Homosassa, Friday, passed away peacefully at her home under HPH Hospice care surrounded by her family and joined her Savior on November 28th 2025. Leaving this world with more beauty and joy to those around her even when she was fearful, and hurting. Her constant jokes that she laughed at more than those she told and her ability to find joy in moments that others would have run from are what made her stand out.

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all” – Mulan.

She was 55 years of age. Cheryl was born in Pompton Plains, New Jersey to Barry and Virginia (Clark) Banta. She moved to Florida in 1986 to graduate as a CHS Hurricane. Cheryl attained her A.S. in Computer Science and she proudly worked as a computer technician with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Work is where she happen-stance met her now husband 28 years ago.  Every chocolate eclair cake, white chocolate cranberry cookie and every cupcake and cake made were an outpouring of her love and creativity to make sure you felt seen and special.

“Remember me. Though I have to say goodbye. Remember me. Don’t let it make you cry. For even if I’m far away I hold you in my heart” – from Coco.

Cheryl retired from CCSO after 28 years of service and dedication. Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband Rick Peruche of Homosassa; her sons Shaun Peruche (Katelynn) of Clermont and Braydan Peruche of Homosassa; her daughter Tia Capagli (Pat) of Rutledge, TN; her parents Barry and Virginia Banta; her sisters Brooke Morris (James) of Bushnell; Crystal Bishop (Zeb) of Inverness; and Tracy Martens (Joe) of Groveland; and two beautiful grandchildren Cali Capagli and Cooper McElrath-Peruche along with many nephews  nieces and friends that became family. Cheryl loveds fiercely; she adored her husband, kids and grandkids, parents, sisters and brothers-in-law.  She was so excited when she was gonna get Grammy hugs. She was the joy to her nieces and nephews with her constant laughs.  No one that made it through her door felt they were not welcomed and part of her home. Many friends became family.

“Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten” – Lilo & Stitch.

Her love for Disney was evident in every decoration or the excitement when she was headed to the castle for yet another adventure. She lives by the quote of Walt Disney, “Happiness is a state of mind. It’s just according to the way you look at things” and scripture John 11:25 HCSB Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.”

She will be missed much because she loved well. Funeral services will be at Eden Baptist Church in Brooksville, FL on Saturday, December 13th, 2025; 10:00 a.m. visitation, 11:00 a.m. service.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
