Barbara Kathleen Hinrichs (“Barbs”), of Inverness, passed away peacefully at her home under Hospice care on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was 82 years of age. Barbs was born to George Carstons and Elizabeth Ann (Hulsizer) Sieglitz in Los Angeles, California. Her dad was a jeweler, and growing up when she was on summer break, he would take her to his store and teach her how jewelry was made. Barbs met Robert F. Hinrichs in San Diego, and they married in 1958. Together they raised three beautiful children. Barbs not only a wonderful homemaker, but she was also the Food Service Manager for the Rogue River School District in Oregon for several years. They decided to make the move to Florida from Oregon in 2000 once the kids were grown, and have made Inverness their home. Barbs loved to sew, quilt, cook, and she truly loved hosting get-togethers at their home. She loved her family dearly, and is loved by all who knew her; she will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish Barbs’ memory are her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Bob Hinrichs; her son Robert Scott Hinrichs; her daughters Kelly Sue Gebel and Lisa Marie Juergensen; her sister; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
