William (Bill) George Rudaitis, 80, of Clarkston, Michigan passed away October 15, 2025, peacefully in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida. Mr. Rudaitis was born October 4, 1945, in Brainerd, Minnesota to the late Vincent and Anita Rudaitis and was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lynda. Mr. Rudaitis leaves behind his daughters Kimberly (Corey) Dubey and Krista Mitchell and her significant other Roy Dutcher, grandchildren Davon Thomas and Amelia Mitchell, his significant other Cheryl Coots, and many extended family and lifelong friends.
Bill was a proud veteran having served in the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. After his honorable discharge from service, Mr. Rudaitis was employed by General Motors in Pontiac, starting as a lineman hanging bumpers to holding the position of Quality Control Inspector at the time of his retirement. Bill loved dogs and after his retirement from General Motors worked at Orion Oaks Dog Park and spoiled his grand dogs with freshly cooked breakfasts each morning they were with him.
Bill AKA “Billy Blue Eyes” or “Bass Bug Bill” was known for his generosity and positive nature. This was most exemplified through his active involvement in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Clarkston Aerie #3373 where for over 40 years his passion for “People Helping People” flourished. From shucking and selling corn at the annual Pig Roast to serving twice as Worthy President and Trustee to ardently supporting the Auxiliary, Bill served with humility and honor. Mr. Rudaitis and his late wife Lynda had a passion for helping children and after the passing of their close friend Wayne Mulholland who was known for visiting children in local hospitals as Santa and the Easter Bunny to bring gifts and cheer for the holidays, they created the Wayne Mulholland Children’s Fund which has helped many local parents provide necessary or merit based items earned that they could not afford on their own for over two decades.
Bass Bug Bill also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, University of Michigan football (GO BLUE!), classic cars, 50/60’s music, dancing, boating, and adventures.
Mr. Rudaitis will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Please contact the family or your affiliated organization for information on the Florida and/or Michigan memorial services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Wayne Mulholland Children’s Fund C/O Clarkston Eagles #3373; 5640 Maybee Road; Clarkston, MI 48346. Chas. E.
