Ernest “Ernie” Clarence Hutman Sr, of Floral City Florida, passed away at age 94 in Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida on Thursday, October 9th, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. He was born on July 31st, 1931, the third child of Ernest L. and Laurel V. Hutman of Spring City, Pennsylvania. On November 28, 1953 he married the love of his life, Anna (Annie) Catherine Mulvoy of Ambler, Pennsylvania. Anna preceded him in death on September 1st, 2018.
Ernie and Anna had five children together, Barbara Turner (Michael), Sherrie Walsh (Terry), Laurel Parido, Kathy Watson, and Ernest Clarence, Jr. (Michelle). Together they share 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sons-in-law, James Parido, and Harry Watson, and one great-grandchild, Leigh-Anna Watson.
Ernie and Anna moved their family from Pennsylvania to Florida in 1971. They lived in several locations in Florida before finally settling in Floral City for the past 43 years. Ernie was truly a Jack-of-All trades throughout his life as he had several businesses which included; welding and fabrication, truck and equipment repair, and operating several service stations. In his career, he also worked as a carpenter, well driller, factory worker, and farmer. His civic involvement included being a life member of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Company in Spring City, and Fire Chief of Upper Frederick Volunteer Fire Company in Perkiomenville, both in Pennsylvania.
The family wishes to celebrate his long life as a life well lived and well loved. Their family was the joy of both Ernie and Anna’s lives and they will always be remembered fondly by them for their love and support. There will be no services in Florida for Ernie as he and Anna will be interred at the East Vincent United Church of Christ Cemetery in Spring City, Pennsylvania at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
