Antonio da Silva “Tony” Teixeira, 89, of Citrus Springs, died at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on October 1, 2025. Born in Salvador-Ribeira de Pena, Portugal, he was the son of the late Augusto and Teresa Teixeira.
Tony became a resident of Citrus County in 1998 relocating from Connecticut. He served in the Portuguese Navy and worked in wire manufacturing. In retirement he enjoyed spending time outdoors walking and riding his bicycle.
Tony was married to his devoted wife, Maria “Dena” Meireles Teixeira for almost 39 years. She survives him along with his stepson and daughter-in-law, Jorge Almeida and Betty Powell of Floral City; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Teixeira; daughter, Diane Browne; and four grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters.

Our family is deeply saddened by Tony’s passing. My husband Calvin will miss the espresso walks in Portugal. Always cheerful, never had saw him complain, RIP Tony!
