Jo Ann Trusler Johnson Brown, age 86, Lecanto, FL passed away on September 26, 2025 in the HCA North Florida Hospital in Gainesville.

Jo Ann was born in Elizabethton, TN on September 2, 1939 to the late Leah Kathleen Howell Trusler and Lawrence H. Trusler.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Citrus County School System in their food service division where she treated each student she served as her own, sometimes providing food, clothing and other essential assistance.

Left to cherish her memory are three children: Michael W. Hampton, residing in Tennessee; Gregory Steven Johnson and his wife Marla of Homosassa, FL; Teresa A. Rusaw and her husband Rex of Lecanto, FL;  4 sisters: Vicky Trusler Bryant Chaney of Tennessee; Rosa Trusler Manning and her husband Eddie of Tennessee; Kay Sledge of Tennessee; Gail Johnson of Georgia; 6 grandchildren: Michael, Gregory, Stephanie, Wayne, Cody  and Leah; 12 great grandchildren: Gage, Griffen, Juliann, Maddox, Alicia, Maggie, Hunter, Khloe, Harper, Bo, Tyson and Teagan; and one great-great grandchild: Alena.  There are many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins who survive.  She was preceded in death by 2 husbands: Raymond G. Johnson on August 31, 1984 and William G. Brown on June 29, 2014.  She also lost a sister, Tamoria Denise Baxter (Bill) and 4 brothers: Richard F. Bowers (Merry), Mark, Wayne (Becky), and Lawrence Trusler (Tracey).

Jo Ann will be laid to rest privately in Oak Ridge Cemetery next to her late husband Raymond Johnson.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 11:00 AM at the Crystal River Church of God with some of Jo Ann’s former pastors officiating.  The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness was entrusted to care for Jo Ann and assist in the Celebration of Life.
