Joseph William Sullivan, age 83, Inverness, FL passed away September 13, 2025 in the Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born in Dade City, FL on January 21, 1942 to the late William Harvey Sullivan and Nell Faith Sullivan.  He was a life-long resident of Florida, retiring from the citrus and agriculture industry.  He served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

Joe was an absolute nature lover and cherished his annual fishing trips with his siblings and son. He was a passionate baseball enthusiast, even playing in the minor league for the Chicago White Sox.  Let’s not forget his love-hate relationship with the Florida Gators!  Every year, he eagerly participated in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont horse races placing bets on the horses.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Rose Mary (Luttrell) Sullivan; 4 children, Eric Todd (Tracy) Sullivan of Granbury, TX; Becky (Kurt) Johnson of Inverness; Heather Nicole (Ryan) Olmsted of Fairhope, AL; Sally (Brandon) Bellamy of Inverness; 2 brothers: Raymond Sullivan and Frankie Gulledge;  2 sisters: Susan Polk and Gloria Richardson, all of Florida; 7 grandchildren: Zachary, Cooper, Reece, Saylah, Kayla, Torah, and Trinton; 3 great grandchildren: Braxton, Easton, and Rylee. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Horace, James, and Bennie Sullivan

There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled for Saturday, September 27th at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Istachatta at a later date.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday after 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
