Edgar Roy Micallef, Jr.

Edgar “Mr. Roy” Micallef, Jr., age 89, died at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on March 31, 2025. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Edgar and Carmelina (Tabone) Micallef.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Roy worked as a field agent for Equifax for 35 years. He had been an avid fisherman, tennis coach and tennis player in Southampton, NY. When he retired to Florida, in 1998, he played golf and was an avid card player. Poker was his game. Mr. Roy was proud to work as a volunteer at Inverness Middle School for more than 20 years most of which was in the wood shop with teacher, Ms Ingrid Staley.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Headlee of Hernando; son, Keith Micallef of Riverhead, NY; sister, Mary Lou Smiles of Old Town, FL; and 2 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Richard and William Micallef.
