Dale Lee Jackson, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late Cecil Junior Jackson and the late Lula May Carr Jackson. Dale was a dedicated coal miner and project manager for most of his life before moving to Weeki Wachee, Florida, in 2012.
Dale had a love for life that was evident in everything he did. He adored spending time with his grandchildren, always up for a game, a laugh, or a good story. An active member of Highlands Baptist Church, he was baptized on December 17, 2023, a moment of deep faith and commitment. He had a sweet tooth for chocolate, never turned down a hot coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts, and found joy in simple pleasures—camping, four-wheeling, bowling, and riding around on his golf cart, often with his beloved dogs, Coco and Skippy, by his side. He was a passionate horseshoe player, winning many tournaments, and loved the feeling of the ocean breeze during his beach visits.
Dale also had an incredible knack for home repair—if there was nothing to fix, he’d find a way to improve something. He was a devoted fan of West Virginia University basketball and football, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers, never missing a chance to cheer them on. His children carried on a playful “competition” of who was his favorite, a joke that brought endless laughter and love. Dale was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, always ready with a good joke or a funny remark that could light up any room.
At the heart of Dale’s world was his wife of 26 years, Deebra “Dee” Jackson. Dee was not only his loving partner but his best friend, dance partner, and unwavering source of support. Whether they were dancing together, traveling to new places, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, they did it side by side. She was his rock, his joy, and the love of his life. Dale cherished their life together, always finding comfort in Dee’s warmth and care.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dee; his children, Christopher Dale (Jessica) Jackson of Nashville, TN; Tara Lea Jackson (Clark) Rose of Odessa, FL; and Tyler Michael Andrew Jackson of Fairmont, WV; his sister, Linda Carol Jackson (Greg) Dunn of Fairmont, WV; his grandchildren, Dru Jackson, Jaxson Rose, Kerrigan Rose, Nolan Jackson, Olivia Jackson, and Waverly Jackson; his stepchildren, James (Connie) Harris and Carrie Oliveto; his step-grandchildren, Ashley Hardesty, Hunter Hardesty, Angel Harris, Zachary Harris, Corey Harris, and Brandon Cavrich, along with several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Coco and Skippy.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Eugene Jackson, and his sister, Shirleen Jackson Eddy.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Highlands Baptist Church in Brooksville, FL, with Pastor Kevin Farmer officiating. An additional service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Fairmont, WV.
Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis with Cremation Care, Inverness.
