Doris Marie Fisher passed away peacefully at Citrus Health & Rehabilitation on January 27, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born to Thurman and Myrtle Fisher on November 30, 1925, in Arkansas, Kansas. She was predeceased by her brother John Fisher, and precious daughter Saundra Stewart (William). Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Pattie Amon, Grandchildren Angie Kinser (Sheldon), AJ Stewart, and Aimee Daher (Paul).
During the depression her parents ran a fish camp and bar, where her mom did the cooking, her father ran the bar, and Doris helped by peeling potatoes. Later on her parents owned a gas station, and she and her brother pumped the gas. She always said the reason they didn’t suffer as much during the depression was because her parents were resourceful, and they passed that trait on to her and her brother.
She and her daughter Saundra became beauticians, and she owned two beauty shops. She and her daughter Saundra each ran them. She loved to talk and had such a big personality, so this was the perfects occupation where she had a captive audience every day. She never knew a stranger and always had a huge smile for everyone she met.
Doris had a beautiful singing voice and loved to play the piano. She and her husband loved to take trips in the motor home with no destination in mind; wherever they ended up, that was where they were going. She loved to cook, garden, crochet and knit, read, and bake.
God willing, she has been reunited with her family members who have passed, and she is once again that gorgeous lady with the big, beautiful smile.
Private cremation arrangements were with Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
