Harvey Cooper, age 91, Floral City, FL passed away January 18, 2025 at The Grove Heath & Rehab Center in Hernando.

Mr Cooper was born in Ozark, AL on January 8, 1934 to the late Joseph and Mattie Dora Peoples Cooper, one of 9 children, and came to this area in the 50’s from Enterprise, AL.    He was a barber  at the Citrus Plaza Barber Shop in Inverness for many years.  Additionally , he was a very talented musician and played in many venues around Citrus and adjoining counties for several years.  There was hardly a string instrument he couldn’t play.  At one time in his career, he was offered a position in Nashville, TN as a studio and recording musician.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Phyllis (Barron) Cooper;  2 children, Jeffrey Cooper of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Kimberly Edwards of Lexington, KY.   He also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a few great great.  He was preceded in death by 2 of his children, Michael and Harvey Cooper, Jr as well as 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

At his request, there are no services scheduled at this time.  He is under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.

    I love my uncle Harvey. He taught me my first song on guitar. I now am retired and Pastor Assembly Of God at Cowarts Alabama
