Deborah Smith Pusey, of Inverness, passed away suddenly at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital on November 4, 2024. She was 83. Debbie was born in New York to Samuel B. and Evelyn (Logan) Smith. She was an administrative assistant with the school board for many years, and also with Connection Church of God in Inverness. Debbie moved to the area from New York in 1979, co-owning Wynn Haven Campground in Bushnell.
Debbie was very crafty; she enjoyed sewing, doll making (and collecting), and quilting. She also found family history and genealogy very interesting. In addition, she was an active member of Connection Church of God for many years.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Todd) Dunn of Inverness; sons, Edward Sean Pusey (Mary Hooker) of Georgia; and John (Christy) Pusey of Hernando and ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also known as “Kitty Cat Grandma”, and Debbie leaves her beloved, “Nellie”. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel and Charles Smith; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Pusey. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
