Joyce M. “Joy” Forgione of Inverness, FL passed away at her home on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was 83. Joy was born to Nicholas J. and Julie (Wild) Forgione in Queens, NY on July 26, 1941. She worked many careers, but mostly she was a manager for Grand Union Grocery Stores in New York. Joy moved to Inverness about 35 years ago. She enjoyed painting, mostly horses and beautiful scenery such as barns, fields, and mountains. Joy also helped catapult the Neighborhood Crime Watch in her neighborhood, and also served as it’s Captain for nearly 30 years. She was very active at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Julie Forgione. Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters Therese Kendrick (Ed) of Inverness and Elizabeth Kohn (Ronald) of Woodbury, NY; her nephews Michael Larosa and Justin Kohn; and her grandniece Maddie Larosa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will offered on Thursday, October 10th at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Suszynski, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
