Edward J. Norris, Jr, 90, of Inverness, FL passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his residence in Inverness. He was born in Bronx, NY on June 7, 1934 to the late Edward J. and Jean (Wallace) Norris. Edward served our country honorably in the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force. He arrived in this area in 1981, coming from Chicago IL. Edward was Christian by faith, and enjoyed going to the gym, dining out, going to thrift stores and enjoyed football. He was a very giving person. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Norris. Other survivors include his children Edward J.(Holly) Norris III of Hayesville, NC, Thorne W. (Dawn) Norris of Sarasota, FL, Andrew J. (Jennifer) Norris of Ocala, FL, Zachary T. Norris of Inverness, Charlene N. (Dean) Risner and Valerie A. Dennison, both of Hernando, FL, and Caseie A. Hill of Inverness; 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, FL on Monday, September 9, 12:00pm with VFW #4337 performing honors. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00am until 11:30am at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. The funeral procession will depart the Funeral Home at 11:45 for the cemetery.
