Dennis Verkest

Dennis B. Verkest, 70, of Floral City, FL passed away July 29, 2024 at HCA Citrus Hospital in Inverness, FL. He was born in Wolcott, NY on November 2, 1953 to Maurice and Lucretia (Larkin) Verkest. Dennis was a chimney sweep for fire safety, and arrived in the area in 2019, coming from Brandon, FL. He enjoyed boating, his corvette, and was a Buffalo Bills fan. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sunant Verkest; his parents Maurice and Lucretia Verkest; son Adam (Nastasha) Verkest of Madison, AL; daughter Maria (Brad) Smith of Brandon, FL; sisters Stephanie Nodine and Julie Geffert; and 2 grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
