Relus Lamb

Relus Elwyn Lamb, 91, of Brooksville, FL, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Brooksville Health Center. Relus was born on May 19, 1932 in Cook County, Georgia to the late Jimmie A. and Vada (Mandrell) Lamb. He came to Citrus County in 1994 from Louisville, KY where they raised their five kids, with memories of camping, family cookouts, volleyball and badminton. The kids have wonderful memories of going to Meadow Hill Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army during Korea. He retired from Kroger Warehouse after 36 years of employment. He and his wife worshipped at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness. Throughout his life, he was very active in the Baptist church. He was a deacon, very active in visitation and worked with the Love Department at Cornerstone. He also served in other various ministry capacities where needed. Upon retirement, he and Ann were excited to move to Inverness to be near family, and also enjoy the lakes for fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are 4 children: Cheryl (David) Downey, Brooksville, FL; Lisa (Shawn) Chesser, Seymour, TN; Richard (Pat) Lamb, Archer, FL; Jeffrey Lamb, Frankfort, KY; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Ann Lamb (November 26, 2018) and his daughter, Ronda Goff (December 6, 2016); his brothers, Ray, Aaron, and J.W also predeceased him.

Funeral services are scheduled on Tuesday, May 14th at 1:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Reneau, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City with Military Honors rendered by V.F.W. Post 4337. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
