Winston Allen Patton, 87 of Inverness, passed away April 9, 2024 at the HCA Ocala Regional Hospital. Winston was born in Gorman, Texas on October 19, 1936 to the late Jesse and Sally (Reid) Patton. He served his country in the US Navy for 20 years as an Aviation Electronics Technician, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Winston came to Citrus County in 2008 from New Port Richey, FL. He was also involved in Real Estate Development. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Inverness, Chief Petty Officers Association , Inverness Elks Lodge, Porsche Club of America, Mercedes Benz Club of Tampa Bay, Suncoast Jaguar Club, and the National Rifle Association. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing.
Left to cherish his memory are his son: Jeffrey A. Patton; his daughters: Teresa C. Renfroe of Thomaston, GA and Debbie Patton of Odessa, FL; 1 brother, Joe Don Patton; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Patton in 2021 and his two sisters, Elizabeth Shaw and Barbara Fox.
A Celebration of Life Service for Winston will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 9:30 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness with Pastor Byron Brown of the First Baptist Church of Inverness officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Jude’s Research Hospital for children.
