Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy J. Johnson, 92, of Floral City, FL passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at her residence in Floral City. She was born in Coffee County, AL on January 8, 1932 to the late Billie Bob and Esther Mae (Lunsford) Leighton. Dorothy was a battery charger technician for Chloride Battery. She arrived in this area in 1977, coming from Tampa, FL, and was protestant by faith. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, loved reading and spending time with her grandbabies and was dedicated to her family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband James A. Johnson in 1994; one son, James A. Johnson, Jr.; and 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Roberta (David) Boden of Melbourne, FL, and Cynthia (Bobby) Jackson of Andalusia, AL; brothers Dawson and Doyle Leighton; sisters Donie Pruett and Doretha Spier; 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
