Rebecca Nelson Kelly, 72, of Citrus Springs, Florida was born April 22, 1951, passed away March 4, 2024 at Citrus Springs Hospital of cancer. Rebecca was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Donald and Jackie Nelson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lewis R. (Bo) Kelly, brother Don Nelson, sister Deborah Bertsch, and daughter Sonya Fillion. She is survived by her brother Fred Nelson, daughter Candice Johnson, grandsons Joseph Clary (Teri Thompson) and Codie Hancock, great grandchildren Halie Clary, Jacob Clary, and Mason Hancock, and her beloved dog Soldier Girl, extended family in Indiana, Polk City and Brandon, Florida, and many friends. Her many passions included the American Legion Post #246 in Beverly Hills and Post #155 in Crystal River where she served many years on the board including secretary and president. She enjoyed helping the homeless vets, going to yard sales and playing darts and cards with her friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her great grand children, they were her greatest joy. She will be remembered most for her loud, boisterous, fun loving attitude and her generosity to her fellow veterans. She loved her country and served as a volunteer for many projects. Her family knows she is now at peace with her husband, sister and daughter that she greatly missed. A Celebration of Life for Rebecca to be scheduled will be held at American Legion Post #155, Inverness. Memorial services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
