Vincent J Gracchi, 89 of Orange Park, formally Brooksville, FL, passed on February 17, 2024 at the HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Orange Park, FL. Vincent was born on June 12, 1934 in the Bronx, NY, to the late Vincent and Kate (Leggio) Gracchi. He moved to Brooksville in 2009 from New Jersey, after commuting as “snowbirds” for half the year since 2005. He later moved with his wife, Elaine Gracchi, to Orange Park, FL, to be closer to his youngest daughter and son-in-law.
Vincent served his country in the US Army National Guard as a tank commander. He was a beloved retired math teacher of 48 years and it was his true calling. Vincent loved his family dearly, but also enjoyed baseball and was a devout Yankees fan. He also enjoyed fishing, and in his retirement, assisted young people with their math at the public library.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 63 years, Elaine Gracchi; his daughters: Elaine Nabors and husband Chad of Florida and Lisa Gracchi of Pennsylvania; his son, Vincent Carl Gracchi of Alabama; two grandsons: Jeffrey and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie.
Graveside services with Military Honors for Vincent will be rendered at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, on Friday, April 12, 2024, time to be announced. Friends may gather at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, on April 12, 2024 prior to the procession leaving for the cemetery at. An open house will be available immediately after the graveside service at the home of Robert Morhard at 2047 W. LaBonte Circle in Beverly Hills.
