Jacqueline G. “Jackie” (Forand) Allard, of Hernando, passed away peacefully under Hospice care on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was 91.
Jackie was born on April 2, 1932, to Stanislas and Eloysia (LaFrance) Forand of Westport, Massachusetts. She attended Westport High School graduating in 1950.
In 1952, Jackie met her future husband, Walter, while working at the Center Theater in Fall River, Massachusetts. They were wed in 1954 and went on to have one child, Robert. They resided in Fall River until 1965 when the family relocated to Westport, Massachusetts. Jackie went to work in the town’s Tax Collector’s office where she remained for over 25 years. Jackie and Walter retired to Florida in October 1998. They attended worship services at the Hernando Church of the Nazarene.
Jackie was an avid reader who also enjoyed cats, collecting recipes, playing cards with her family and shopping at yard sales and flea markets.
She was the youngest of eleven children, all of whom preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of almost 70 years Walter Allard of Hernando; her doting son Robert Allard and his wife Nora of Norton, Massachusetts; and her two beloved grandchildren Nigel and Jillian Allard. A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 12 Noon at the Hernando Church of the Nazarene 2101 N Florida Ave, Hernando, FL 34442. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home 3075 S. Florida AVE Inverness, FL 34450.
