Wayne E. Brown, M.D., 84, of Crystal River, FL passed away February 3, 2024 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL. He was born in Lake City, FL on November 5, 1939 to the late William Elmo and Flossie (Freeman) Brown. After graduating Columbia High School class of 1958, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served 2 years active and 4 years Navy reserve as a Medic/Physician Asst. After the Navy he attended Radiology School trough Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He retired from Department of Veteran Affairs in Lake City, FL after 34 years of service. He also worked nights in Radiology at Lake City Medical Center and 7 Rivers Hospital ER. He arrived in this area in 1990, coming from Lake City and was Baptist by faith. He owned and managed Sal’s Restaurant located in Beverly Hills, FL, for many years. He enjoyed flying his personal airplanes, riding motorcycles, boating, snorkeling, and diving. He had a great love for his pets. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jessica Brown (furbabies Gabby and Peru). Other survivors include his daughters Lisa (Bill) Moore and Michelle (David) Gore, both of Lake City; sister, Frances Howton; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Wayne is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 12:00 pm at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Military honors for Wayne will be rendered at that time.
