James Monroe Collins, age 68, Inverness, FL passed away at home on February 1, 2024 following a long illness. Jim was born in Whitesburg, KY on October 4, 1955 to Sharkey and Allie Sue Tracy Collins and came to this area 20 years ago from Tampa. He was a boilermaker working out of Tampa Local # 433 and served our country in the U.S. Army
Left to cherish his memory is his loving partner of 30 years, Sandra Medich Smith of Inverness; 1 son, James Monroe Collins, Jr and his wife Terri of Apollo Beach, FL; 2 brothers, Sharkey and Ronald Collins and his sister, Nancy Lyons. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service scheduled at Florida National Cemetery Friday, Feb 16th at 1:00 PM with V.F.W. Post 4337 conducting military honors.
