Harold Meyer

Harold W. Meyer, formerly of Inverness, passed peacefully under Hospice care in Clermont. He was 90 years old. Harold was born in Flasher, ND, spent his school years in Oxford, NY, but has been in Florida for many years. He worked as a utilities operator throughout Florida, including Orange, Osceola, and Sarasota counties. Harold has been in this area since 2003, having moved to Inverness from Sumter County. He served in the US Army, and owned and operated his own farm when he was discharged from the service. Harold was a member of the Moose Lodge, and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his brother Albert Meyer and two sisters, Agnes Rowe and Lois Crandall. Harold is survived by his wife of 70 years Shirley Meyer of Wildwood; sisters Louise Pike and Arlene Meyer, both of Norwich, NY; brother John Meyer of Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held for Harold on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 11:00-11:30am at the funeral home, and a service with military honors will follow at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery.
