Agnes Helen Kearns, age 86, Inverness, FL passed away December 28, 2023 under the care of Vitas Hospice. Agnes was born in Bloomfield, NJ on August 9, 1937 to the late Frank and Agnes (Frontz) Pruner. She moved to Florida in 1995 from San Antonio, TX. She was a retired Civil Service employee working for the U.S. Government as a secretary.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Inverness and active in her community, being a member of the Inverness Women’s Club, The Military Officers of America Auxiliary, and the” Red Hatters”. Agnes enjoyed floral arranging and crafting her own jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel William J. Kearns, U.S. Army Ret. He died on September 30, 2008. Her family heritage includes 4 brothers, Leo (Joan) Pruner, Eugene (Barbara) Pruner, Francis Pruner, and James Pruner; 1 sister, Marion (Daniel) Dietrich; 2 sisters in law, Anne Longton and Doris Pruner; nephews: Danny, John, James, Robert, Frank, E.J., Kevin, Andrew; nieces: Carol, Linda, Diane, Gail and Karen; and 19 grand nieces and nephews. She also had a foster daughter, Khanh Le Tran
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with The Rev. Fr. Michael Suszynski and The Rev. Fr. John Dietrich (Agnes’ nephew) con-celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery at 12:30PM. Visitation will be on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 PM Arrangements entrusted to Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, FL.
