Jon M McAvoy

Jon Michael “Mike” McAvoy, 87, of Floral City, FL passed away November 11, 2023 at his residence in Floral City. He was born in Akron, OH on December 9, 1935 to the late Emmett Patrick and Helen Mildred (Weaver) McAvoy. Mike was a supervisor for Goodyear Tire Company and served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. He arrived in this area in 2016, coming from Berea, KY and was Christian by faith. He loved history, and enjoyed collecting antique toys and sketching model cars.
Mike was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy McAvoy. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonita McAvoy. Other survivors include his children, Chris McAvoy, Joel McAvoy, and Kim Geiger, all of Jackson, MI, Tim Hyden (Maureen) of Clermont, FL, and Don Hyden (Bridget) of Crystal River, FL; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
