Shirley Ann Viers, aged 86, Inverness, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2023 at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was born in Louisville, Ky on April 13, 1937 to Francis L. Fox and Dorothy E (Scroggins) Fox and moved from there to this area in 2015. She retired from the University of Louisville as an Administrative Assistant following 29 years of service. Shirley was married for over 68 years to her late husband Everett Viers, who had just passed on June 23, 2023.
Left to cherish her memory are 3 children: Charles L. Viers and Mark A. Viers and his wife Debra of Inverness; Joseph P. Viers and his wife Cheryl of Louisville, Ky; 3 brothers and 1 sister: Frank L. Fox, Fred Fox, Linda Franz and Mike Fox; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
There is a Celebration of Life graveside service scheduled for Friday, August 11th at 11:00 AM at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The Rev Dr Dennis Bennett will officiate. The procession will depart at 10:00 AM from the funeral home. Following services, Shirley’s urn will placed next to Everett’s in the cemetery’s columbarium. The family requests expressions of sympathy by donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is serving the family.
