Richard ‘Dick’ Dubbs, 92, of Floral City, Florida, sailed on to smooth seas June 9th, 2023. He was born in Seidersville, Pennsylvania to Charles J E and Erna Ihle Dubbs. He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School and Moravian College earning a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration. He received an Honorable Discharge from the US Navy Reserves and the US Coast Guard where he served as an electronics technician in New Jersey and aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Ramsden in the Pacific during the Korean War. In the years following, he was employed in business, sales and accounting.
He was a Master Mason, Bethlehem, PA Lodge 283; a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars; Coast Guard Combat Veteran Association; Hellertown Sportmens Association and Se-Wy-Co Fire Company. His early passion for sports car road and ice racing included membership in The Idle Dandies Sports Car Group.
Dick was a loving, considerate and deeply caring father, proud grandfather and a loyal friend. He always enjoyed his beloved canine companions, motor homes and boats. Dick lived life creatively with kindness, gratitude, generosity, service and curiosity.
He is deeply missed by his daughter, Judith Gillam (Thomas), of Bedminster, PA and granddaughter, Aubrie Gillam, of Auburndale, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
A public memorial service will be held at the Bethlehem Masonic Center, 1607 Stefko Blvd, Bethlehem, PA, Thursday, July 6 at 7:00 PM.
