Jean F Wilson

Jean Flory Wilson, 95, of Citrus Hills, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2023. There is no doubt the sound of her warm and joyful laugh is now heard across the Heavens.
Jean was born in Bangor, Pennsylvania, on October 3, 1927, the youngest of 4 children. In 1946 she graduated from Churchmans Business College and went on to work for Monroe County, PA in the Recorder of Deeds and Register of Wills Office. Jean also worked for the YMCA of Stroudsburg.
In 1947, Jean married John R. Wilson, Jr.; they celebrated 63 years of marriage before he passed away in 2011. Jean and John called Delaware Water Gap, PA home for many years, and became “Snowbirds” in their (joyfully long) retirement. In 2011, Jean made Florida her year-round residence.
Oh, the places she went! Jean loved to travel. Together with her husband (and often with family, friends, and a 4-legged companion), they hitched up their camper trailer and set off on many trips. Over the years they explored this beautiful country, having visited 49 states with their camper and the 50th, Hawaii, via a cruise. In addition, Jean spoke often of a lovely trip across the United Kingdom with their dear friends, Joan and Harry Powlus. Her adventures afforded her many vibrant photo albums and endless wonderful memories.
Jean proudly served the communities in which she lived. In Delaware Water Gap, she volunteered many hours with the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain (as Treasurer and supporting the Hikers Hostel, plus countless other activities) and the Antoine Dutot Museum & Gallery. In more recent years, she crocheted and donated many sleeping mats and warm hats.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Wilson, Jr., and her son, David J. Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol J. Kircoaf of Citrus Hills, FL, daughter-in-law Deborah Wilson of Lecanto, FL, three grandchildren, Caren (Scott) Senior, Pam (Martin) Muir, and Matt (Stacey) Wilson, one great-grandson, Kevin Senior, and much-loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully invites you to make a donation in Jean’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, 206 Washington Ave, Inverness, FL 34450. Private cremation with Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory
