David C Jensen

David Charles Jensen, 80, of Floral City, FL passed away April 17, 2023 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL. He was born in Owatonna, MN on June 15, 1942 to the late Sherman and Marjorie (Leinin) Jensen. David was a Warehouse Manager in the food industry, and attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed helping others in many different ways. David was a Life Scout of the Boys Scouts of America, and a volunteer with the Tampa Bay Hospice and editor of their newsletter. He also volunteered for Blessings of Citrus County, and performed community services for his neighbors. Dave was president of his high school class. In his retirement years, he wrote a newsletter for his classmates bringing everyone up to date on their careers and family life.
He was preceded in death by his dog, Abby. Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Beth Jensen; his children Devin (Rebecca) Jensen of Brandon, FL, and Dee Cee (Joe) Vega of Lutz, FL; step children Kenneth Miller, Krista Yurchak, Karine Johns, and Kate Miller Eubank; brother Gary Jensen; sisters Susan and Bonnie Jensen; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial for David is scheduled for Thursday, June 15, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. David’s urn will be laid to rest at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, at a later date. Cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
