Velma J Dickerson

Velma Jene Dickerson, 93, of Inverness, FL passed away March 19, 2023 at Highland Place in Inverness. She was born in Miami, FL on July 28, 2023 to the late Wilbur and Velma (Van Swearingen) Boyd. Velma was a Licensed Practical Nurse and arrived in this area in 2013, coming from Arizona. She was Baptist by faith, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Velma is survived by her children, Jeffry Dickerson of Inverness and Jaime (Gary) Gordon of Fountain Hills, AZ; half brother David Gilman and half sister Hanna Boyd; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Gathering of Family and Friends for Velma is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Velma will be laid to rest at National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ at a later date.
