Roberta Mary (Bruns) Hercutt, age 96, of Inverness, Florida passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Inverness. Roberta was born in Osgood, Ohio on September 20, 1926 to the late Leo Joseph and Mary Agnes “Minnie” Bruns. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George, her son Ted, her granddaughter, Shannon and siblings: Annette, Bill, Paul, Louis, Pauline, Ruth, Esther, John, Pat and Douglas.

Roberta leaves behind her children Terry, Tanya and Tammie; sisters: Barbara (Ralph) Homan, Wanda (Marvin) Keiser; grandkids: Marty, Sean, Deanna, Penny, Chad, Jereme, Chris; great grandkids: Roger, Danielle, Dylan, Shasta, Jacob, Tyler, Trent, David, Emil, Zachary and great-great grandson, Cameron.

Roberta was a devoted Christian rooted in Catholicism. She enjoyed family, friends and the outdoors. In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, boating and a good fish fry with happy hour.

Roberta left her house at an early age to find work leading up to a job at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. After her marriage to George, the two of were self-employed ranging from a bait shop to a spouting and roofing company.

A Celebration of Roberta’s life will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The Rev. Ryan Jeffes, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. She will be interred privately, at the Florida National Cemetery beside her late husband, George. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Vitas Hospice, P.O.1330, Lecanto, Fl 34461 or St. John Paul II Catholic School, 4341 W. Homosassa Trail, Lecanto, FL 34461.
