Kurt Eugen Eppenbach passed away on March 10, 2023, aged 72 years in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Bretten, Baden- Wurttemburg, Southwest Germany on June 5, 1950. His parents were Karl Sebastian Eppenbach and Anneliese Durr Eppenbach. The family emigrated from Germany to Canada in March of 1958. The Eppenbachs resided in Montreal for five years before moving to The Town of Greenville in Orange County, New York in 1963.
Kurt graduated from Minisink Valley Central School, Slate Hill, NY in 1970 and attended the State University of New York at Oswego prior to joining the Army where he served as a member of the Military Police.
Following his tour in the Army, Kurt worked as a draftsman and surveyor for several Civil Engineering firms in Orange County. He designed and built his home on Bowser Road in Howells, NY and lived there for many years until failing health saw him move to Florida in November of 2021. He was a talented mechanic, interested in all things and had a wry sense of humor.
Kurt was predeceased by his parents and his only brother Horst. He is survived by a nephew, Horst K. Eppenbach Jr. and wife Elizabeth, 2 grandnieces and a grandnephew, a niece, Heidi K. Eppenbach, sister-in-law Susan Eppenbach and several cousins and lifelong friends. Kurt is buried in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
